都市戦略とモビリティ分野に強みを持つCityfiがCannonDesignのコンサルティング部門に参加
ニューヨークを拠点とするグローバルデザインファームCannonDesignは、未来都市やモビリティ、シビックライフに特化した戦略・イノベーション企業Cityfiが、同社のコンサルティング部門へ正式に参画したことを発表した。Cityfiは、都市政策、交通インフラ、公共空間、気候変動対応など、複雑化する都市課題に対して戦略立案から実装までを支援する専門チームとして知られている。公共機関や民間企業、非営利団体と連携し、レジリエントで持続可能な都市形成を推進してきた。

CannonDesignのChief Strategy OfficerでありBlue Cottage of CannonDesign代表を務めるJuliet Rogersは、「Cityfiは大胆で挑戦的な企業であり、他者が避ける課題にも積極的に取り組む存在だ」とコメント。さらに、システム思考を取り入れた包括的な都市戦略の可能性について言及した。Cityfiは、自動運転、インクルーシブモビリティ、ガバナンス変革、公共空間再編、社会インフラなど、急速に変化する都市環境への対応を支援している。Waymo、Verizon、Automotusなどの企業に加え、ニューヨーク市、コペンハーゲン、ロサンゼルス、ピッツバーグなどの行政機関とも協働してきた。

今回の統合により、CannonDesignは建築、インテリア、エンジニアリングに加え、都市政策やモビリティ領域まで含めた横断的なデザイン体制をさらに強化する。教育施設、医療施設、公共空間、住宅開発など、多様なプロジェクトにおいて、より包括的な都市ソリューションの提供を目指す。またCityfiは、今後も既存ブランド名を維持しながら、CannonDesignの各地域・各分野のチームと連携して活動を継続する予定だ。今回の発表は、Ennead Architectsをはじめとする近年の戦略的パートナーシップ拡大の流れに続くものであり、CannonDesignの総合的なデザインファームとしての進化を示している。

Cityfi expands CannonDesign's thinking around mobility and the future of cities. We previously designed 201 Ellicott, the first "mobility hub" in the City of Buffalo that encourages people to walk, bike and take public transit.
