持続可能な未来へ導く木造建築の卓越性を称える
Cecoboisはケベック州ケベックシティのPalais Montcalmで開催された第9回Cecobois Awards of Excellence授賞式において、18の優れた木造プロジェクトを表彰した。本アワードは商業・産業・公共・集合住宅建築における木材の利用拡大を称えるとともに、ケベック州の建築・エンジニアリング分野における革新的な技術と専門性を顕彰するものである。また、17の自治体が木材を活用した建築およびインフラ整備に取り組んだ功績を評価され、自治体プレートが授与された。
授賞式にはTVA Québecの司会者Nathalie Clarkがホストを務め、約275名のゲストが参加した。ルアン・ノランダ・テミスカミング州選出の州議会議員であり、天然資源・森林大臣補佐官であるDaniel Bernardも登壇し、受賞者を祝福した。Bernardは「ケベック州において木造建築が進めば進むほど、地域経済の活性化と雇用創出につながる。また、特にアメリカ市場への依存を減らし、経済の安定を図ることができる。我々の政府は、木材利用を促進するための有利な条件を整え、Cecoboisや産業パートナーと協力してこの成長を支えていく」と語っている。さらにCecoboisのディレクターであるLouis Poliquinは、「木材の利用はますます一般的になり、建築の規模や用途も多様化している。持続可能な資源であり、低炭素の特性を持つ木材の活用は、気候変動対策と地域経済の発展に貢献する。今回の受賞プロジェクトを見ると、その価値が一層明確になる。プロジェクトを応募したすべての専門家に感謝し、受賞者の卓越した業績を祝福したい」とコメントした。
