Celebrating Excellence in Sustainable Wood Architecture

Cecobo is honored 18 outstanding wood projects at the 9th Cecobois Awards of Excellence ceremony, held at Palais Montcalm in Quebec City. This award recognizes the expanding use of wood in commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential construction while celebrating the innovative architectural and engineering expertise of Quebec professionals. Additionally, 17 municipalities received plaques for their commitment to incorporating wood into their infrastructure and buildings.adf-web-magazine-cecobois-awards-of-excellence-2025-19

Hosted by TVA Québec presenter Nathalie Clark, the ceremony welcomed approximately 275 guests. Daniel Bernard, MNA for Rouyn-Noranda–Témiscamingue and assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources and Forests, was also present to congratulate the winners. "The more we build with wood in Quebec, the more we create and sustain jobs in our regions while reducing our economic vulnerability, particularly concerning the U.S. market. Our government is committed to fostering favorable conditions for wood utilization and will continue working with Cecobois and industry partners to support this growth," said Bernard. Cecobois Director Louis Poliquin added, "The use of wood is becoming more widespread, with projects growing in scale and diversity. As a renewable resource with a low carbon footprint, wood plays a crucial role in combating climate change and stimulating regional economic growth. This year’s winning projects further underscore these values. I sincerely thank all professionals who submitted their projects and congratulate the winners on their exceptional work."
