"Made by her" Exhibition in Hong Kong

Design Pier is a Hong Kong based organizer of design exhibitions representing a new direction in Asia’s vibrant design scene via its curated professional design exhibition, talks, events and partnerships. This time Design Pier presents "Made by Her" exhibition.

Design has no gender. Only designers have. Design Pier’s upcoming show wants to demonstrate that design made by women doesn't equal to a particular feminine sensitivity to shapes, colors and aesthetics. Design, like any other form of creative craft, is primarily influenced by the individual’s unique perspective on the world: a mixture of character combined with cultural, artistic, psychological and social influences. Gender is part of it but it doesn’t define it.

From Dec 5th to Dec 9th, Design Pier will present 30 limited edition furnitures and design objects curated from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South-Korea, Lebanon, Italy, Czech Republic and Finland at the usagi gallery - most of them arriving to Hong Kong for the first time.

We present 30 unique collectible and limited edition design pieces from 10 different countries (Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Lebanon, Finland, etc.) around the topic “MADE by HER”. 

We have chosen to celebrate the creative power, strength, caliber and diversity of leading-edge works coming out of the studios of female designers.
