Explore the natural motifs used by various brands
For the third chapter of “Nature symbols in the brands” we will travel into Le Coq Sportif, Swarovski, Tiffany &Co and Van Cleef & Arpels to explore how the nature has influenced these brands. Let's dive deeper into it!
LE COQ SPORTIF - Rooster
The French sportswear brand LE COQ SPORTIF – from the French “the sporting rooster” – was founded by Émile Camuset in 1882 and has the symbol of the ROOSTER as its logo. In heraldry, it symbolizes pride, strength and courage. The choice of this symbol has its roots in history. In ancient times, the Latin word “Gallus” meant both “rooster” and “inhabitant of Gaul” – the ancient name of France. This coincidence has helped make the rooster the symbol of France.
The LE COQ SPORTIF logo embodies a triple meaning: national pride, sporting excellence and French tradition.
SWAROVSI – Swan
The SWAN was not the initial logo of Swarovski. The first logo was in fact an alpine flower that recalled the Alpine origins of the Swiss brand. Introduced in 1988, the SWAN represents elegance, purity and transformation, giving the brand a more sophisticated and universal identity in line with the quality of its crystals. The SWAN, which seems to glide gracefully on the clear water in which it lives, evokes the purity and luminosity of Swarovski crystals. Over the years, the Swan has become an emblematic symbol of Swarovski, present in all its jewels, making them immediately recognizable and distinctive.
TIFFANY &Co – Bean
The “BEAN”, introduced in 1974 by the Italian designer Elsa Peretti, is one of the iconic symbols of the American brand. It represents life, growth and birth, a metaphor for natural beauty and the origin of life itself. Its design, characterized by minimalist and fluid lines, embodies the elegance and timeless style of the designer who drew inspiration from organic shapes, transforming them into refined and unmistakably modern jewels.
VAN CLEEF & ARPELS - Butterfly
The BUTTERFLY is the iconic symbol of Van Cleef & Arpels. It represents elegance, transformation and lightness that recall the key values of the French brand. Since its birth – founded in 1896 by Alfred Van Cleef and Salomon Arpels in Paris - the maison draws inspiration from nature, using the butterfly to express harmony and beauty through its refined craftsmanship. The butterfly, which symbolizes metamorphosis and growth, reflects the ability of Van Cleef & Arpels to transform precious materials into works of art.
Nature has played a pivotal role in shaping the identities of these renowned brands, infusing them with powerful symbolism that resonates deeply with their values and aesthetics. Together, these symbols not only reflect the brands’ deep connection to nature but also their ability to transform natural inspiration into timeless luxury.
