A vividly curated 113㎡ home in Yekaterinburg blends iconic design, playful artistry, and technical innovation

Designed by Alexander Tischler LLC, this 113-square-meter, two-bedroom apartment in Yekaterinburg was created for a successful businesswoman seeking a home defined by iconic contemporary design and strong emotional impact. Conceived as both a personal retreat and a statement setting for hosting family and friends, the project transforms a standard residential layout into a richly layered, art-driven interior.

The design team reconfigured the apartment by expanding the kitchen–living area and carefully integrating two load-bearing columns into the spatial composition. One column became a visual anchor through a robust wooden shelving system by Italian brand Mogg, combining structural necessity with functional storage. From concept to construction, the studio managed the entire process, working under a fixed-price agreement that ensured budget consistency throughout the renovation.

The interior narrative began with a whimsical dining table whose legs resemble fine stockings—an expressive piece by Marcel Wanders that immediately set the tone. Matching chairs by the same designer reinforced a sense of cohesion, while a dark crimson chest of drawers added a playful surprise through patterned interiors and integrated lighting. Throughout the living area, iconic furniture by international brands is balanced with soft curves and tactile materials, creating an expansive, theatrical atmosphere. Fabric wallpapers by Arte evoke a Tuscan landscape, giving the impression that walls part like curtains to reveal a distant view.

A Bonaldo sofa with a rounded, embracing form encourages conversation, paired with a kaleidoscopic Glas Italia coffee table whose luminous reflections recur subtly across the home. In the kitchen, ash veneer cabinetry is accented with bold color: mustard-yellow handles echo the living room sofa, while a raspberry-toned wall cabinet references the Tuscan wallpaper. Though visually light and set below the ceiling, the cabinet functions fully as a concealed range hood. All major appliances, including a French-door refrigerator and separate freezer, are seamlessly integrated.

Lighting plays a key role, highlighted by a Tiffany-colored glass chandelier by Italian manufacturer Karman. The entryway continues the material language of the main space, using the same porcelain tile and oak veneer, complemented by large mirrors and color-coordinated accessories.

Private areas were carefully reworked to enhance flow and intimacy. The guest bathroom was enlarged, while both bathrooms feature porcelain tiles with holographic effects that echo the living room table. The bedroom zone was reorganized to create a tranquil suite with a bathroom, walk-in closet, and bedroom. A ribbed glass partition maintains openness, while a custom relief artwork behind the bed adds sculptural depth.

A standout technical innovation is the bracket-free installation of a television directly onto a glass partition—an unprecedented solution in Russia—using a nearly invisible translucent cable. The master bathroom continues the project’s artistic language with layered green-blue tiles, curved architectural lines, and bold accessories, completing a home that merges expressive design with precise execution.
