A global series that transforms historic buildings into immersive nighttime experiences
Moment Factory, a Montreal-based multimedia studio, presents “AURA,” an immersive experience series that transforms cultural landmarks into must-visit destinations. The project reinterprets the architectural beauty and historical narratives of heritage sites through light, sound, and projection. Through nighttime programs, visitors experience these spaces from entirely new perspectives.
A Site-Specific Experience Blending Architecture and Narrative
AURA is a site-specific project that builds narratives based on the history and spatial qualities of each venue. By integrating projection mapping, lighting, and spatial audio, the experience enhances architectural details and amplifies the perception of scale. Each installation is uniquely designed according to the structure, ornamentation, and cultural context of the site. As a result, every AURA experience is distinct, positioning architecture itself as a storytelling medium.
Expanding Across Global Cultural Landmarks
The AURA series is currently presented in several iconic venues worldwide, including Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, the Dôme des Invalides in Paris, and Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. These projects have collectively attracted millions of visitors and are recognized as a new model for activating cultural institutions. By extending programming into nighttime hours, AURA contributes to both tourism and cultural sustainability in each city.

Redefining the Relationship Between Technology and Architecture
Moment Factory integrates video, lighting, sound, and interactivity to expand the value of architectural spaces. In AURA, technology does not dominate but instead serves to reveal and enhance architectural qualities. This approach enables visitors to engage more deeply with space itself, offering a renewed understanding of the relationship between heritage architecture and digital media.
