Japanese Renowned Architect Sou Fujimoto Joins the Judge Panel for "Dezeen Awards 2022"

Dezeen Awards 2022 is revealing the industry professionals who will be judging the entries this year. At this point 84 judges out of 93 have been announced, such as  Japanese Architect Sou Fujimoto, Italian Architect Benedetta Tagliabue, and industrialist Alberto Alessi to name a few. The Dezeen Awards is open for submissions through June 8, with discounted entry fees in effect through March 30. The NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) proudly supports the awards again this year as a media partner.

In its fifth year, the programme has become the ultimate award for architects and designers, with winners selected by a prestigious international judges. Read on for the first to third of the announcements introducing the 93 industry experts who will judge the entries this year.

• Neal Shasore: Chief Executive and Head of School at the London School of Architecture
• Eran Chen: founding principal and executive director of ODA
• Annette Fisher: practising international British/ Nigerian architect, with her practice FA global operating in London and Lagos
• V. Mitch McEwen: public architectural designer and the co-founder of Atelier Office
• Tom Kundig: an owner and design principal of Olson Kundig
• Jonathan Tuckey: founder of Jonathan Tuckey Design
• Vicky Richardson:  architectural curator with a wide range of experience in the UK and overseas
• Li Xiangning: dean and full professor in history, theory and criticism at Tongji University College of Architecture and Urban Planning
• Hans Ulrich Obrist: Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries in London, Senior Advisor at LUMA Arles, and Senior Artistic Advisor at The Shed in New York
• Kabage Karanja and Stella Mutegi: co-founders of Cave Bureau, a Nairobi based bureau of architects and researchers
• Yasmeen Lari:  the first female architect in Pakistanis, one of the best-known architects in the country, as well as an architectural historian, heritage and environmental conservationist, humanitarian worker and philanthropist.

• Rozana Montiel: founder and director of Mexico-based architectural firm Rozana Montiel | Estudio de Arquitectura
• Tosin Oshinow: Lagos-based Nigerian architect and the founder of cmDesign Atelier (cmD+A)
• Stefano Boeri: architect, urban planner and full-time professor at Politecnico di Milano
• Joseph Henry: designer and urbanist whose practice involves working closely with institutions to be more progressive in how they shape our urban environment.
• Mariana Pestana: Lisbon based architect, researcher and curator specialising in the field of contemporary design and architecture.
• Fabio Novembre: founder of Novembre Studio, a multidisciplinary studio
• Willo Perron: French-Canadian designer and creative director. Co-founder and co-partner at Los Angeles based design studio Perron-Roettinger.
• Gonzalo Herrero Delicado: curator, architect and educator based in London

Filmmaker and architect Liam Young and sustainable design expert Katie Treggiden will lead the judges for the Dezeen Awards 2022 sustainability and media categories.

Liam Young: designer, director and BAFTA nominated producer who operates in the spaces between design, fiction and future.

Katie Treggiden: environmental design writer, author and consultant.
