A Library Designed for Exploration

The renovation prioritizes transforming the library into an engaging and flexible environment. Drawing inspiration from timeless children’s stories from around the world, the design incorporates themed areas defined by custom platforms of varying heights. These platforms function as reading spaces, quiet study zones, and organizational areas for the library’s diverse book collections.

Key features include a bamboo forest platform and a village-themed area with a hut and cave designed for group activities and storytelling. At the heart of the library is a Tibetan-inspired storytelling tower, leading to a hang-out net where students can relax. Modular circular bookshelves enable flexible layouts, accommodating both small group work and individual study. A color palette influenced by traditional Chinese temples adds warmth and harmony to the space.

Interactive Features and Thoughtful Design

Interactive elements such as whispering tubes, periscopes, and hidden crystals provide playful tactile experiences, fostering curiosity and engagement. Acoustic panels ensure the library remains a quiet environment conducive to learning, even with multiple simultaneous activities.
