A Citywide Festival Leveraging Creative Thinking for the Future

From January 29 to February 8, 2026, Bangkok will host its ninth annual “Bangkok Design Week 2026,” a citywide design festival organized by the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization). In collaboration with over 60 partners including the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, public and private institutions, educational bodies, and international organizations, the event will take place across four main districts: Charoenkrung - Talat Noi, Phra Nakhon, Pak Khlong Talat, and Bang Lamphu - Khaosan.

Themed “DESIGN S/O/S,” the festival asks a powerful question: “What can design do?” It challenges participants to see design as more than aesthetics — as a tool for problem-solving and action across the realms of economy, society, environment, and quality of life.

Programs

Over 350 programs will be held throughout the city, including more than 200 design showcases, over 30 talent development initiatives with 10 local educational institutions, as well as talks, workshops, walking tours, design markets, city activation projects, and collaborations with local businesses and restaurants. International designers from over 16 countries will also take part. The festival aims not only to highlight Thai design but also to serve as an experimental platform that generates real-world business and social impact. As a designated UNESCO Creative City of Design since 2019, Bangkok leverages this festival as a key engine for its creative economy, promoting sustainable development and encouraging creative thinking to help the city "survive and thrive."
