NPO Aoyama Design Forum presents the recommended exhibitions of art galleries and museums in June 2023. The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo " Gaudí and the Sagrada Família "
This exhibition focuses on the Sagrada Família, which has long been called the “unfinished basilica” but is finally on track for completion, to reveal the source of Gaudí’s architectural thought and creativity, as well as the social significance of this monumental basilica project. The show will also shed light on Gaudí’s unique production process, in which he developed his ideas not only through drawings but also by making numerous models, and on his comprehensive artistic orientation, which includes colorful tile coverings, furniture, steelwork decoration, and sculpture. In addition to more than 100 drawings, models, photographs, and materials, the exhibition will also feature architectural images taken with the latest technology to explore the timeless appeal of Gaudí’s architecture.

Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka 1st Anniversary Exhibition “Art in Love with Design♡Design Jealous of Art”
The Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka will host the exhibition "Art in Love with Design ♡ Design Jealous of Art" for the 1st anniversary of the exhibition in April 2023. It will be held from Saturday, June 15 to Sunday, June 18.This exhibition presents art and design, the two pillars of the activities of the Nakanoshima Art Museum in Osaka, in parallel and is an attempt to explore the boundary between design and art and the "overlap". It is an opportunity for you to experience the questions and answers such as "Is this design?" and "Is this art?" before each work.

NTT InterCommunication Center "ICC Annual 2023: Shapes of Things "
At the NTT InterCommunication Center, a cultural facility operated by NTT East, "ICC Annual 2023: Shapes of Things " will be held from Saturday, June 24, 2023 to January 2024. It will be held until the 14th of the month (Sun). "ICC Annual" will be a long-term exhibition from 2022, taking over the role and concept of the "Open Space" exhibition that was held from 2006 to 2021. In this year's ICC Annual, we will discuss how the shape of things and events will change and how memory and behavior can be expressed in today's world where the virtual world as an augmented reality permeates the living environment. will be explored through works on various themes.

NANZUKA and Sogetsu Kaikan Kenny Scharf Solo Exhibition "I'm Baaack "
NANZUKA will host a solo exhibition by American artist Kenny Scharf titled "I am Baaack" at NANZUKA UNDERGROUND from Saturday, June 10 to Sunday, July 9, 2023. It will also be held at Sogetsu Kaikan from June 10 (Sat) to June 30 (Fri) 2023. This exhibition is Schaaf's first solo show of new work in a main Japanese gallery in about 30 years.

Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM] "The Flavour of Power: How Can Food Be Perceived through Conflict, Politics, Ethics, and History?"
YCAM presents the exhibition "The Flavor of Power - How to see food through conflict, politics, ethics, and history?" (The Flavor of Power: How to see food through conflict, politics, ethics, and history?
This exhibition presents the results of the "Food and Ethics Research Project" conducted by YCAM. During the course of the project, the ehibition conducted research on the ethical aspects of food with the Bakudapang Food Study Group, an eight-member artist collective from Indonesia. They focused on the genetic modification of crops and the dependence on the production of a single crop (monoculture), especially using the relationship between Japanese and Indonesian food during the Pacific War. The exhibition will present the results of this research through video installations, card games, and material exhibits. Wildflower picking workshops and hands-on card game sessions will also be offered during the exhibition period. We hope you enjoy the exhibition.

From Saturday, April 1, 2023, to Sunday, June 25, 2023, the Tokyo Art Museum will present the exhibition "Film Photo Actuality." This exhibition explores the meaning and possibilities of direct photography with film cameras and through dialogues between photographers. Three photographers (Mr. Tamaki Yura, Ms. Nahoko Funaki, and Ms. Masahiro Kodaira) said in a dialogue, "Pressing the shutter button is nothing but sowing seeds" (Yura), "The feeling of taking a picture When it's good, you feel good until you see it." (Funaki), "There will be a different response than the one I imagined." (Kodaira). How are these things used in your work? This exhibition is an opportunity to rethink the nature of the medium of photography.

Contemporary art gallery "Galerie Supermarkt"
The exhibition "Welcome to my melancholy" by two artists is held at Galerie Supermarkt, which opens a new space in Jingumae. The exhibitors are Korean-born artist Sang Woo Kim, who grew up in London, and Johannes Bosicio, an Italian artist born in Cavarese and living in London. The dialogue between the two explores vulnerability, beauty and introspection. The exhibition addresses the social pressures to be productive and successful in a capitalist society, the complexity of human emotions, and the role of art in fostering empathy and understanding in such a difficult living environment.

Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store 120th Anniversary Exhibition "The World of Board Artist Shiko Munakata"
The Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store will host the 120th anniversary exhibition "Panel The World of Painter Shiko Munakata" from Wednesday, June 14, 2023, to Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in celebration of the 120th birthday of world-renowned Japanese panel painter Shiko Munakata. Shiko Munakata's creative works full of energy and deep spirituality were awarded the highest award in the printmaking category at the 1955 Sao Paulo Biennale after the war, and the international prize for printmaking at the 1956 Venice Biennale. and has been highly evaluated abroad, making his international reputation unwavering. You can admire more than 120 masterpieces of woodblock printing, Japanese painting, oil painting and calligraphy from his early years to his later years.

Yokohama Marine Tower Anri Okada solo exhibition "Close your eyes and open the strata like a book"
In the art room on the 2nd floor of the Yokohama Marine Tower, the solo exhibition of artist Anri Okada " Cerrar los ojos , abrir las capas de la tierra como un libro ". / Close your eyes and open the layers like a book" will be on view from Thursday, June 1, through Friday, June 30. Okada, who studied and trained in Mexico and Guatemala, has energetically created works that transcend genres while being deeply touched by the unique culture of indigenous myths and poetry, the extraordinary landscapes that live in this land.
While in Mexico, Okada said, "The primitive world and the modern world coexist in the same space, whether in the city or in the jungle village, sometimes I feel like I see a vision." is influenced by the Mexican climate and culture. This exhibition features 48 recent paintings created in Mexico and Japan between 2019 and 2022.
