素材の風化に手仕事を加え作為性と物質性の相対をみる

Gallery Hayashiで山下源輝個展「Shape of Weight」が2024年9月14日（土）から9月28日（土）まで開催中。本展は韓国で高い評価を得た山下の立体作品および平面作品の展示で、初の試みである吊るし型の立体作品とペインティング8点で構成されている。

山下の作品は廃材、木材、布切れといった日常的で質素な素材を用い雨風や日光などの自然による影響を作品に反映させる手法で制作され、風化や様々な現象により変容した作品は「物質」と「事象」の関係性を探求している。そこへあえて手仕事が加えられており、作為性と物質性の相対をみることができる。
