Showcases Indonesia on the Global Stage

Indonesian architecture and interior design practice CNS Designworks has been named a finalist at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2025, shortlisted in the Interiors: Public Buildings category for its groundbreaking project, the Stone Experience Center by MM Galleri.

More than a conventional showroom, the center is the country’s first activity-based stone gallery, offering visitors a series of interactive encounters with marble and natural stone. Conceived as a cultural and social hub, the venue hosts seminars, cocktail parties, product launches, fashion shows, a bar, omakase lounge, cigar room, live theater, and even a fountain toilet”—all integrated into a fluid architectural narrative.

Central to its innovation is MM Galleri’s pioneering technology that bends marble, allowing the creation of organic, curvilinear forms that break away from stone’s traditional rigidity. This capability positions the company as Indonesia’s leader in material research and advanced fabrication, while highlighting CNS Designworks’ flair for bold, context-driven design.

Remarkably, the project moved from concept in January 2024 to opening in October of the same year—less than ten months—without sacrificing design quality or ambition. Beyond its architectural achievement, the Stone Experience Center was envisioned as a sustainable ecosystem, ensuring long-term cultural relevance and adaptability.

The project has already garnered multiple international awards, including several at the Asia Pacific Property Awards, the Grohe Luxury Awards 2025–2026, and four honors at the International Property Awards in Bangkok earlier this year.

CNS Designworks is no stranger to the spotlight, having drawn international attention with Atlas Beach Fest in Bali (2022), one of Southeast Asia’s largest lifestyle destinations. With the Stone Experience Center, the firm reaffirms that Indonesian design can compete on the world stage, balancing technical precision with cultural expression.

The WAF recognition marks a significant milestone, positioning the Stone Experience Center as a global benchmark in material innovation and experiential design, and signaling the growing influence of Indonesian architecture on the international arena.
