Located on the second floor of Royalmount, Le Fou Fou offers stunning views of the piazza. Spanning over 30,000 square feet, the space features twelve food outlets, four bars, and both indoor and outdoor seating that can accommodate over 900 guests. This unique venue has quickly become a must-visit destination on Montreal’s food scene.

A Distinctive and Bold Design

"The primary inspiration for the project comes from Provence and French bistros, which we have subtly blended with Montreal's urban character to create a one-of-a-kind space," says Anne-Marie Bouliane, architect and partner at LemayMichaud. The color palette is warm and welcoming, drawing on earthy tones and shades of green that evoke the essence of European cafés. The use of polished concrete adds an urban, contemporary touch, creating a refined yet lived-in feel.

Two Distinct Spaces for Different Experiences

The space is divided into two distinct areas, each offering a unique atmosphere depending on the time of day. The brighter side, flooded with natural light, offers a family-friendly setting, while the darker, more festive side is designed for evening social gatherings. This versatility allows for different experiences within the same space while maintaining design cohesion.

Redefining the Gourmet Hall Experience

Montreal is known for its vibrant food scene, full of innovative restaurants and dining spaces. Le Fou Fou stands out not only for its exceptional culinary offerings but also for its unique design. Unlike traditional food halls, which are often quick stops during shopping, Le Fou Fou provides an immersive experience where dining becomes an event in itself.

Art Meets Space

One of the most striking features of the project is the large mural adorning the elevator shaft, designed by LemayMichaud’s graphic design team. This piece of art, inspired by magical realism, transforms the elevator into a captivating visual journey, revealing new details with every visit.
