Creating sophisticated spaces that complement urban living
Designed by Afetto Creative Lab, this 164 m² apartment in Tatuapé, on São Paulo’s east side, was remodeled to reflect the lifestyle of a young, single resident. The client requested a sober atmosphere defined by a neutral palette, clean lines, and a distinctly masculine sensibility. The result is a functional urban retreat with strong identity and character — a space that mirrors the profile of its owner, a discreet and sophisticated restaurant entrepreneur.

The project’s main guideline was to expand and prioritize the social area. The living room, balcony, kitchen, and gourmet space were fully integrated into a single, wide-open environment with an expansive view of the city. Structural walls were demolished, and the original balcony window frames were removed. Throughout the renovation, all discarded materials and waste were carefully separated for donation, reinforcing a conscious, low-impact approach.

The intention was to create a fluid space for socializing, ideal for hosting friends and enjoying leisure time. The layout supports this idea: a pool table stands out next to an island-style sofa, which organizes circulation without interrupting the integration between areas. In terms of decor, the project blends European minimalist references with industrial elements and signature design pieces. The finishes follow the same language: marble-patterned surfaces from Portinari, in cement tones, add texture and lightness to the dark base palette. Lighting by Lina is fully dimmable and programmed with different scenes to adapt to a variety of uses. In the master suite, a wall was removed to expand the space and better accommodate the bed. The bedroom palette continues the dark tones of the social areas, reinforcing a sense of comfort and privacy. Furniture highlights include the Ilha sofa by Leo Apter, Beá armchairs by Karams (designed by Luciano Santelli), and the Cozy chair by Eduardo Trevisa for Msul Móveis.
