Pop-up’s diary in Tokyo
The pop-up store is now raging worldwide at a fast pace, and it's almost difficult to keep up with all those who emerge from every corner of the city. Yet we often fail to visit them for various reasons: lack of time, entrance sold out, or simply because we are unaware of the event.
POP-UP MANIA is a diary that reports selected events during the year in Tokyo.
Let's discover them together!
Introducing Bulgari’s Tokyo Pop-Up Store
- O-yane Plaza at Roppongi Hills
- 27th of October - 6th of November 2022
Located in the Roppongi Hills complex square, the Bulgari pop-up has a unique structure. The shape of the snake - the brand's iconic symbol - is used as the base for the layout of the installation. The perimeter of the snake, adorned with transparent and golden acrylic cubes, generates a shiny and captivating effect. A soft floor in rust carpet, and golden mirrored furnishings, surround the “SERPENTI” collection. Among the various necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings, the new “SERPENTI VIPER” collection and the new “Serpenti Seduttori”, “Serpenti Tubogas” and “Serpenti Spiga” watches are on display. An interactive mirrored photo booth envelops the visitor with looping images of "SNAKES", trees, and flowers, creating the pop-up more exciting,
Chanel Station
- Jing Gallery in Harajuku
- 11th – 20th of November 2022
A real “Space Station” is created by Chanel to celebrate its legendary products. A sizeable lunar base with a parachute-shaped display welcomes the guests. Once they cross the threshold of the space station, they receive a passport where they can collect stamps to participate in lunar exploration. The staff - dressed in white’s clothes that simulate those of astronauts - accompany the visitor to the make-up stations.
The journey to the space station, accompanied by Chanel perfumes and cosmetics, culminates with a trip on the MOON ROVER, where the visitor searches among stacks of trunks and gift boxes for his CHANEL N.5.
The space environment has a little Christmas touch. The overlapping boxes are tied with a red ribbon to symbolize a Christmas tree created with CHANEL's famous black and white boxes.
Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Pop-Up Store
- Jing Gallery in Harajuku
- 2nd – 22nd of January 2023
Completely invaded by “folk dots”, the Jing Gallery hosts the pop-up that launches the collaboration between the French Maison Louis Vuitton and the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Welcoming visitors at the entrance to the pop-up is a giant statue of the artist with his signature red hair and a pair of sunglasses. The sculpture, divided between the two floors of the gallery - the legs on the first floor and the head on the second floor - portrays the artist carrying an LV bag in one hand and a brush in the other. The entire environment - adorned with yellow dots, from floor to ceiling, to the windows and stairs - is embellished with mirrored spheres that recall the artist's “Narcissus Garden” installation in Venice in 1966 during the 33rd edition of the Biennale.
Dior Blooming Love Garden Tokyo Pop-Up Store
- Ba-tsu Art Gallery in Harajuku
- 3rd of February - 14th of February 2023
The Dior pop-up store, inaugurated for “Valentine's Day”, the season of love par excellence, is divided into four areas with a “multisensory” experience: “LIP MAXIMIZER SHOWROOM”, “LIP MAXIMIZER STUDIO”, “BLOOMING LOVE GARDEN & BOUTIQUE” and “BLOOMING LOVE CAFE'”.
“LIP MAXIMIZER SHOWROOM”, decorated with a mirrored diamond-point ashlar wall, a circular counter and hanging mirrors, hosts the “Dior Addict Lip Maximizer” in its renewed version.
The “LIP MAXIMIZER STUDIO” photobooth invites visitors to recline on a futuristic armchair experimenting with dynamic photography.
“BLOOMING LOVE GARDEN & BOUTIQUE” welcomes the visitor with a series of installations: white panels sprinkled with flowers, displays with products embellished with balls of thread used to create the famous “poignard” bow, an immersive room with dancing flowers, and another one where fabrics - inspired by new couture staple and Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet - float in the air.
To finish in style, the last stop at the “BLOOMING LOVE CAFÉ” where you can taste chocolate in collaboration with “Pierre Hermé Paris” and a drink with the flavor of colored flowers by Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet.
