The 82 shortlisted projects from 32 countries
Dezeen has announced the architecture shortlist for this year's Dezeen Awards, which includes buildings by Schemata Architects, URBANUS, Studio Gang, Stanton Williams and Grimshaw. The NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) once again supports Dezeen Awards 2024 as a media partner.
The 82 shortlisted projects, which are in the running for awards in 15 different architecture project categories, are by studios located across 32 different countries including Bangladesh, Rwanda, Turkey, Taiwan, Niger and Mexico.
The top four represented studio countries are the United Kingdom, followed by the USA, China and Australia. The top project city locations are London, with seven shortlisted entries, followed by Beijing with four and Toronto and New York tied in third with three each.
Shortlisted projects include a solar farm hub with mirrored steel panels in Turkey and a plant-filled 255,000-square-metre airport terminal in India. The shortlist also features a renovated bookstore in China, a development with undulated green roofs in Tokyo and a treetop walkway built from pinewood in Norway.

A collaboration between Holcim and Norman Foster Foundation, which saw firms reveal a concrete-wrapped housing prototype for displaced communities at the Venice Architecture Biennale, is also shortlisted.
