21_21 DESIGN SIGHT Gallery 3 "beyond form GUSHA GUSHA, KUSHA KUSHA"

Using "GUSHA GUSHA" and "KUSHA KUSHA," the bags of IM MEN, which are presented as finished forms that allow them to change into many different shapes, this exhibition aims to communicate how intuitively pleasing the material is to handle, the fundamental aesthetics behind it, and the ambition to achieve something inherent that goes beyond functionality and form. Five creators from various artistic disciplines worked with these items, gripping, smashing, twisting, and wadding the bags into a series of works that communicate their wild, formless nature—ambiguous outlines and definitions even while maintaining a basic, intuitive shape.

The artist frames the subject uniquely, the critic offers a verbal evaluation, and the viewer connects the image to personal experiences.
