The Presence that Guides Us toward This Universe is DOUDEMOYOI

ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) is pleased to present "HOLD THE UNIVERSE IN YOUR HEART  - DOUDEMOYOI -", the 40th exhibition of the "ADF Art Gallery Project" by SAKI CHIARA, from April 3 to April 15, 2026, at GARDE Gallery at Omotesando, Tokyo. The opening reception will be held on Friday, April 3, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Please join us if you have the time.

Born to an Italian-Australian father and a Japanese mother and raised in Japan, SAKI CHIARA creates works centered on the themes of the universe, beauty, love, and light. Through her art, SAKI CHIARA gives tangible form to invisible energies in this world.

At the heart of this exhibition lies “DOUDEMOYOI,” a unique concept developed by SAKI CHIARA. “It’s okay no matter what,” “It’s okay not to worry about anything,” “Everything is okay.” At first glance, these words may sound like resignation, but they are by no means a sign of giving up. Rather, they signify “the breadth, depth, and strength to accept everything.” This attitude, which embodies the truth that “everything has meaning, and yet nothing has meaning,” sends a message to us navigating a complex society, urging us to let go of our rigid perspectives.

With DOUDEMOYOI, you can surrender yourself to the infinite freedom of possibilities.

Each time you speak to DOUDEMOYOI, a flower begins to grow.
From infinite possibilities, a flower that belongs only to you begins to bloom.
When it blooms, it shines somewhere in the universe.

Its steady gaze looks toward the truths of the universe.
A gesture expressing a quiet truth
that everything has meaning, and at the same time none at all.

Born to an Italian-Australian father and a Japanese mother, SAKI CHIARA grew up in Shonan, Japan. From a young age, she was captivated by the vast expanse of the night sky, expressing her fascination through depictions of magical beings. Influenced by her father, a university professor, she studied Performing Arts and Creative Writing at a university, cultivating her artistic vision and aesthetic sensibilities in both Japan and Australia.
