In Honour of the Architect Gottfried Boehm

Postgraduate architects can still submit their applications for the second round of the Gottfried Böhm Scholarship until 31 May 2025. The scholarship holder is given the opportunity to spend a year developing a creative and visionary urban planning project for Cologne and the region. For this period, the scholarship holder will receive free accommodation, a workplace in a creative environment in the heart of the city and a monthly grant of 2,500 euros. The Gottfried Böhm Scholarship will start in October 2025 for a year. With this scholarship, the City of Cologne and its sponsors want to honour the Pritzker Prize winner, who died in 2021. Inspired by the work of Gottfried Böhm, the scholarship focuses on the interactions between architecture and urban planning. The initiator and patron is Cologne's Lord Mayor Henriette Reker. The scholarship is organized and supervised by the Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Technischen Hochschule Köln e.V. (Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences).

The results of the work produced as part of the Gottfried Böhm Scholarship will be presented at the end of the scholarship at a reception hosted by the Lord Mayor. The work will then be exhibited for a fortnight in the Spanish Building in Cologne and there will be an opportunity to publish the project in specialist publications to make it accessible to a wider public.
