Dezeen Awards 2020 Shortlists
The shortlist for the Dezeen Awards 2020 is now available. For the third annual awards program, 220 shortlisted projects were selected from more than 4,300 entries from 85 countries to celebrate the best in architecture, interiors, design, studios and individuals producing the best work in the world. The 220 shortlisted projects are listed on the Dezeen Awards website, and NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) supports the Dezeen Awards 2020 as a media partner.
Architecture shortlist
A carbon-positive dwelling in Sydney, a kindergarten with a red rooftop, a residence that integrates rural living in a rapidly-growing city (pictured) and a pavilion grown from mushroom mycelium are among the 64 projects in the running for awards in 12 different architecture project categories.

Interiors shortlist
Check out the 61 projects shortlisted for the 12 interiors categories in this year's awards programme, including a curved pink-tinted concrete building for a luxury retailer, a former printshop transformed into a residence, a restaurant and bar designed to look like a forest and a boutique for a new Japanese cosmetics brand (pictured).
Design shortlist
The design shortlist features a wealth of innovations, including 3D-knitted furniture (pictured), a chair designed in response to social distancing measures, a cutlery set made from durable and 100 per cent recyclable materials and a powerful brain computer.
Studio shortlist
The shortlist for the Dezeen Awards 2020 studio categories has been revealed, with 33 studios selected across six categories. Studio Gang, Mamou-Mani, Shahar Livne Design, formafantasma and Norm Architects are some of the shortlisted studios.

Public vote
Public voting is a new addition to the Dezeen Awards programme. Dezeen readers are able to vote for their favourite entries from 14 September until voting closes on 12 October. Projects and studios with the highest number of votes in their category will win a special Dezeen Awards 2020 public vote winners' certificate. More details next week.
What happens next?
Winners of the public vote will be announced on 19 October, with judges' winners of the 42 categories revealed on 4-6 November. Look out for our next newsletters!
