Designed by MU Architecture<\/a>, the lakeside residence balances striking formal expression with careful integration into its natural setting, creating a home that emphasizes connection, adaptability, and long-term durability.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Positioned at the secluded end of Lake Xavier and bordered by protected land, the property occupies a dramatic site surrounded by mountains and dense vegetation. Existing shoreline planting was preserved to strengthen privacy and maintain the site\u2019s natural character, while the steep terrain informed both the building\u2019s placement and circulation strategy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Rather than creating a single monumental structure, the architects divided the residence into a series of interconnected volumes that follow the contours of the landscape. The home draws conceptual inspiration from the albatross bird, long associated with freedom and travel. That influence appears in dramatic cantilevered forms that extend outward like wings in flight, giving the residence a sense of lightness and movement. Elevated terraces and carefully framed views reinforce the impression that the building hovers delicately above the terrain rather than dominating it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Its exterior composition combines layered rooflines, fragmented massing, and white wood cladding to create a retro-futuristic architectural language that feels both contemporary and familiar.
