My Studio in the 18th Arrondissement of Paris<\/h3>\r\n

I<\/span>\u2019m a Japanese ceramic artist based in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
\r\nAfter studying ceramics at an atelier in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, I moved to France and opened my own studio here.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Through handbuilding and underglaze painting, I explore themes such as shame, taboo, and gender expectations. I enjoy stepping away from function and transforming familiar shapes into humorous, monster-like ceramic forms \u2014 a way to give shape to emotions and contradictions that are usually left unspoken.<\/p>\r\n

The YouTube channel TOCTOC visited my studio in Paris to film an interview about my work and process. In the video, I talk about the stories behind my ceramics and what it means for me to keep creating here in Paris.<\/p>\r\n

Working with clay feels like listening to my inner voice. It lets me step away from social expectations and search for forms that feel honest and alive.<\/p>\r\n

Japanese Pottery Classes in Paris<\/h4>\r\n

At my studio, I host small-group Japanese pottery classes in Paris, open to beginners and experienced makers alike. Classes can be taken in Japanese or English, so even if you\u2019re not confident in French, you can enjoy the experience comfortably.<\/p>\r\n

Recently, more families have joined my parent\u2013child pottery workshops, where we create freely with clay and color. It\u2019s always joyful to see children shaping their own \u201clittle monsters\u201d next to their parents \u2014 sharing imagination through touch and play.<\/p>\r\n
