A<\/span>s part of Singapore Design Week<\/a>, the Design Futures Forum<\/a>, taking place from October 1 to October 2, 2024, will delve into the evolving role of design and designers in a world marked by rapidly advancing technologies, a planet on the brink of ecological crisis, and a future where global life expectancy continues to rise. As a media partner once again, NPO ADF (Aoyama Design Forum) is proud to support the Design Singapore Council in presenting Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2024.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

Designed by Practice Theory<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n

This year\u2019s expanded program will explore the critical role of design in shaping a better future across the areas of emerging tech, sustainability, and care, focusing on its impact in the fields of technology, environment, and health. Bringing together thought leaders and practitioners from Singapore and around the world, the forum will explore how design can make a positive impact on both an individual and societal scale, creating a better future for all beings. It will also address the question of what it means to be a designer in today\u2019s complex world, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration across technology, business, environmental science, health, and inclusivity.<\/p>\r\n

Main theme<\/h4>\r\n

The forum will be structured around three main themes over two days. With thought-provoking presentations, engaging panel discussions, and interactive hands-on sessions, the Design Futures Forum aims to inspire participants to drive positive change within their spheres of influence, creating a more sustainable, equitable, and caring future for all.<\/p>\r\n

1.The Future of Emerging Technologies (October 1 & October 2)<\/h5>\r\n

This segment will explore the impact of AI, machine learning, and other technologies on design, and how these innovations are transforming the products and solutions that shape our lives.<\/p>\r\n

2.The Future of Sustainability (October 1 & October 2)<\/h5>\r\n

Moving beyond sustainability towards regenerative approaches, this segment will examine how design can help heal the planet, incorporating the needs of non-human life to create a truly positive impact on the environment.<\/p>\r\n

3.The Future of Care (October 2)<\/h5>\r\n

This hands-on segment will explore actionable approaches to designing care environments that promote health and well-being, inviting participants to co-create new solutions for the future of care.<\/p>\r\n
