Built by two working artists, the platform offers unlimited artwork records and PDF catalogue export, one link away, from €99 a year or 9.90 euros a month.

Viewroom, an artwork inventory and portfolio management platform for independent artists, opened to the public on August 15th. Founded by artists Florian Zumbrunn and Eri Maeda, the platform lets artists record unlimited artworks and export a catalogue as a PDF or a shareable link. Thirty artists are currently registered on the platform.

Existing artwork inventory software is sold primarily to galleries, institutions, collectors and art consultants, and is priced by the number of works stored. Entry-level artist plans across the market are commonly capped at 50 to 500 works, with unlimited storage reserved for higher tiers. Viewroom removes artwork limits on every plan.

“Every artist I know keeps their work in a spreadsheet, a camera roll and a folder of old PDFs. I got asked for a catalogue more times than I can count, and I had nothing to send. This is the first time I can actually send catalogues to collectors. The tools that exist were written for people who buy art, not people who make it.”

Viewroom holds one record per artwork: images, dimensions, materials, year, edition, price and current location. From that record it generates a catalogue or a portfolio:  a PDF ready to send, or a link for galleries, curators, open calls and collectors. Contacts sit alongside the works. Sold works stay in the archive. Artists own all uploaded material and can export it at any time.

The platform began in 2025, when Zumbrunn assembled the catalogue for a self-organised group show of five independent artists in Paris and found that none of the five had an existing catalogue to supply. Eri Maeda, a Japanese ceramic sculptor based in Paris, was the first user and joined as co-founder after cataloguing her own studio.

"Every time a gallery asked for a catalogue I spent days rebuilding a PDF I had already made," said Eri Maeda, co-founder of Viewroom.

Viewroom is available worldwide at viewroom.art in English and French. New accounts begin with a 14-day free trial with all features unlocked and no card required. The annual plan is €99. The monthly plan is €9.90. Sixty founder places are open at €69 a year, locked for the life of the subscription.
