Japanese painter Kotao Tomozawa will present her first solo exhibition in Southeast Asia, "Too Much Heaven," at CURU GALLERY in Bangkok from 24 July to 6 September 2026. Coinciding with the exhibition, one of her paintings has been selected as the key visual for Central Department Store's signature "BEAUTY BONUS" campaign, running across Thailand from 1 July to 31 October 2026.

Presented by CURU GALLERY and curated by SUNNYES, the exhibition features a new body of paintings created specifically for the occasion. Tomozawa will also stay in Bangkok during the exhibition period to produce a large-scale work on site, offering visitors a rare opportunity to encounter a painting completed in the city where it is exhibited. Born in Bordeaux, France, in 1999, Tomozawa graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Tokyo University of the Arts. She has gained international recognition for her distinctive portraits enveloped in slime-like, translucent organic forms that investigate the relationship between the body, perception, and the sensation of being alive. "Too Much Heaven" presents her latest works, marking a significant new chapter as she expands her artistic practice into Southeast Asia.

Born in Bordeaux, France, in 1999. Graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2022, specialising in oil painting. Completed a postgraduate degree in oil painting at the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2024. Creates distinctive portraits in which slime-like substances intertwine with organic motifs.
