Exhibition "BLACK SERIES" by artist Anna Pennati TIERS GALLERY by arakawagrip

Arakawa Giken Kogyo Co Ltd, a manufacturer of wire hardware and picture rails, and Almach Art Gallery in Milan, Italy, are hosting an exhibition "BLACK SERIES" by artist Anna Pennati at TIERS GALLERY by arakawagrip in Omotesando in September 2022. It will take place from September 9 to 17. Curators and artists from Italy will also travel to Japan for this exhibition. The exhibition will be directed by Kaori Akiyama, a designer who has won numerous design awards in Japan and abroad for her approach that emphasizes the appeal of colors and materials.

City Walk Project "ART WALK KYOTO"

In conjunction with the full relocation of the Agency for Cultural Affairs to Kyoto in March 2023, the City of Kyoto will implement a series of Agency for Cultural Affairs Relocation Commemorative Projects to build on the momentum of the Agency's relocation and enhance Kyoto's vitality as a city of arts and culture. ART WALK KYOTO is a city walking tour project to introduce "recommended courses" around events, and the event become cultural venues to let many people get in touch with Kyoto's "art." As recommended courses, there are selected various projects on the occasion of the relocation of the Cultural Affairs Agency, such as "Pop Art," "Real and Virtual Worlds," and "Modern Architecture." There are three city tours where you can visit several places.

* "ART WALK KYOTO" will be held until March next year in conjunction with various "Agency for Cultural Affairs Relocation Commemorative Projects" after the above period.

Overview

The event will introduce and disseminate recommended courses through the official website, brochures, etc., visiting various art and cultural venues in Kyoto that have participated in the "Relocation Commemorative Project" of the Cultural Affairs Agency.

Sezon Museum of Modern Art Collection Exhibition "Art belongs to everyone"

The Sezon Museum of Modern Art celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. It was opened in August 1981 with the "Marcel Duchamp Exhibition". The exhibition, now in its 41st year, features numerous sculptures in the spacious garden, and contemporary art can be experienced at the Sezon Museum of Modern Art, nestled in the natural surroundings of Karuizawa.

GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi, a gallery space operated by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, holds the special exhibition "Circular City Marunouchi Waste=Resources Design for Circulat" in August 2022, introducing efforts to create a recycling-oriented society through design and art in the Marunouchi district. It is held from the 19th of this month through September 20. Designs that turn "Marunouchi" into "Mawaru no Uchi" / "Garbage = Resources " are presented, as well as 8 current examples being worked on in the Marunouchi area.

"Travel and Imagination/Creation: Someday It Will Be Your Journey" Exhibition Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum

The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum will present the exhibition "Travel and Imagination/Creation: Someday It Will Be Your Journey" from Friday, September 23, 2022 to Sunday, November 27, 2022. Based on the 1920s trip to Paris by the Prince and Princess Asaka, which served as the starting point for the construction of the main building, we will explore the meaning of the experience of "travel" through art deco crafts, tourist posters that took the world by storm, and works by contemporary artists. At Gallery √K Contemporary (Route K Contemporary), New York-based East German artist Cornelia Thomsen presents a solo exhibition titled "Unfolding Ratio" from August 27 (Sat.) to September 24 (Sat.) 2022. In this exhibition, which will be her third solo show in Japan, she will show works ranging from old to new, including Cornelia's representative Stripes series, the minimalist monochrome GR series, and portrait works shown for the first time in Japan.

The Pola Museum Annex (Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) hosts the exhibition "this is not a samurai" by Tetsuya Noguchi on September 11, 2022. Tetsuya Noguchi is an artist who uses armor as a motif to question the inner nature and diversity of man. He is active in many fields, including exhibitions in Japan and overseas, including a traveling exhibition in 2021, and collaborations with foreign brands. This exhibition features about 40 of his representative works, including three-dimensional and two-dimensional works, as well as three new works created especially for this exhibition.
