日本での初個展・最新作の展示

アレックス・カネフスキー個展「The Battle of Shahbarghan」が104 GALERIEで2024年4月6日（土）から5月11日（土）まで開催される。カネフスキーはアメリカ・ニューハンプシャー出身。2022年に104 GALERIEで開催されたグループ展に参加して以来、初の個展となる。

本展のタイトルになっている「The Battle of Shahbarghan （シャバーガンの戦い）」は、1646年にインド、ムガール地方で起こったとされるあまり知られていない戦で、様子を伝える小さな美しいムガールの絵画が現在メトロポリタン美術館に残されている。『人は皆、他人には分からない戦いのさなかにいる（Everyone we meet is fighting a battle unknown to us.）』 という格言に心を寄せたカネフスキーは、本展を構成する10点の作品は互いに関連性がなく描かれている主題も異なるものの、外からは分かり得ない紆余曲折や内包された苦しみを伝える作品を描いている。
