Ink painting artist, Ryuichi Fujisawa "Sumi no Kiseki" Exhibition

ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) is pleased to present "Sumi Trails" by Ryuichi Fujisawa, an ink painting artist, as the "ADF Art Gallery Project Vol.18" exhibition from Monday, November 28 to Saturday, December 3, 2022. We hope you will enjoy the world of Ryuichi Fujisawa, an ink painting artist who expresses his inspiration from the beautiful nature of Japan in his bamboo brush strokes.

Ryuichi Fujisawa spent his 20s in Paris as a fashion designer, and after returning to Japan, he worked as an event producer, mainly for fashion brands. During his stay in France, he became aware of his Japanese identity, which eventually led him to the Japanese tea ceremony and ink painting art.

Ryuichi Fujisawa Profile

Born in Hokkaido in 1952, Fujisawa graduated from Kuwasawa Design School in 1972 and moved to France. After working as a freelance designer for Y.S. Laurent, Givenchy, Chanel, and Lanvin, he worked as an assistant designer for J.L. Sherrer for three years. In 1996, he became an event producer for Lanvin, and in 2006, he started creating ink painting art.

His first solo exhibition was in Aoyama, Tokyo, and Kanazawa in the fall of 2016.
